Day Tour To Sevan Lake, Sevanavank & Noratus
Start this day tou by visiting the blue Peart of Armenia – Lake Sevan, recognized as a national treasure in the country. It is the largest lake of the Caucasus and Armenia at an altitude of 1900 m above sea level. The Monastery complex of Sevanavank is located on the shore of a small island.
After the water level fell about 20 m, the island transformed into a peninsula. You can take your lunch there in Sevan, which provides approximately 90% of the fish and 80% of the crayfish catch of Armenia. Next, continue the trip to Noratus, a historical village in Gegharkunik province.
Noratus is famous for its cemetery because it has over 800 khachkars (stone crosses), carved between the 9th-17th centuries. If it is the right season, you’ll have a master class on cheese preparation in Noratus. Return to Yerevan and take a rest.
