Day 1 – Tbilisi → Haghartsin → Red Deer Breeding Center → Dilijan
Duration: 8–10 hours | Distance: 246 km | Meals: None
Start your journey from Tbilisi towards Armenia, driving through scenic routes to Dilijan, known as the “Armenian Switzerland.” Visit Haghartsin Monastery, built between the 10th–13th centuries with bright limestone contrasting the green forest backdrop. Learn about its rich history, restorations, and donations by HH Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi.
Enjoy a short city tour of Dilijan Old Town, including Sharambeyan Street with craft shops, galleries, and museums. Visit the Red Deer Breeding Center in Dilijan National Park, established with WWF and CNF support to restore Armenia’s red deer population.
Return to Yerevan for an overnight stay.

Day 2 – Khor Virap, Noravank, Areni 1 Cave
Duration: 7–8 hours | Distance: 260 km | Meals: Breakfast
Travel to Khor Virap Monastery, a key site in the adoption of Christianity in Armenia (301 CE) and associated with St. Gregory the Illuminator, who was imprisoned here for 13 years. Enjoy panoramic views of Mount Ararat.
Stop for lunch in Areni village, then visit Noravank Monastery, famous for its red cliffs and 13th-century ornate architecture by the sculptor Momik, known for Armenian khachkars.
On the way back, explore Areni 1 Cave, where the oldest human shoe (c. 3,900 BC) and the world’s oldest winery were discovered.

Day 3 – Sevanavank, Tsakhkadzor, Kecharis Monastery
Duration: 7–8 hours | Distance: 270 km | Meals: Breakfast
After breakfast, head to Lake Sevan, Armenia’s largest lake at 1,900 m altitude. Visit the Sevanavank Monastery on the peninsula. Continue to Tsakhkadzor, a cozy mountain town and ski center, and explore Kecharis Monastery, partially destroyed by a 1927 earthquake and rebuilt during the USSR era.
Return to Yerevan for overnight stay.

Day 4 – Sanahin, Mikoyan Museum, Aramyants Castle → Tbilisi
Duration: 9–11 hours | Distance: 300 km | Meals: Breakfast
Check out from the hotel and explore Sanahin Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and medieval architectural marvel in Lori province. Learn about its scriptorium, manuscripts, and role in preserving Armenian culture.
Visit Alaverdi town, known for copper mines and the Mikoyan Brothers’ House Museum, dedicated to prominent Soviet-Armenian figures Anastas and Artem Mikoyan. End the day with a visit to Aramyants Castle, a Swiss-style mansion built by oil producer Mikael Aramyants, with historical significance tied to Armenian cultural figures.
Drive back to Tbilisi.
